Copy is text that is used to market a company or product. It includes a wide range of writing from short headings to the words for a flyer, letter or website.
As a copywriter, I specialise in writing copy for individuals and businesses. You rely on writing to represent yourself, so it is important to make sure it stands out, is convincing and professional.
I also work as a content writer. The subtle difference between this and copywriting is that content text may not be so obviously aimed at marketing. For example, lots of website text is explanatory or informative, but needs to include key words for SEO (search engine optimisation). Web content is something that I write a lot of.
Websites
Most companies use websites to promote themselves and seek out customers. It is a great way of doing business in the modern world, but potential customers won’t get in touch if the writing has errors or is unprofessional. Visitors will view your web content as a direct reflection of the business, so make sure it is exceptional.
Another reason that web content is so important is its role in boosting search engine presence. Text that includes key words and is tailored with SEO (search engine optimisation) will help your site to show up above competitors.
I write a lot of web content for clients and would love to hear about your site.
Editorials
I began my career writing the editorial content for luxury magazines.
The process begins with a brief from the client where I get to understand the tone of the overall magazine and what they hope to achieve with the individual article.
I really enjoy moving from this stage through to interviews, research, creative writing and redrafts. It’s always a great feeling when an editorial is signed off and I get to see the finished product post design.
I have written for a range of publications including a library of luxury wedding magazines. If you require a writer for any editorial work, please get in touch.
Business correspondence
Something that I am quite often asked to do for companies is write or proofread correspondence on their behalf.
Examples of business correspondence include formal letters to customers following complaints, emails to staff and speculative correspondence with the aim of securing a contract.
By asking me to write correspondence on your behalf, you save valuable time while ensuring professional communication that represents your company.
Marketing
This is a very broad subject and includes a wide range of copywriting.
Businesses market themselves using a variety of mediums including newsletters, leaflets, emails, press releases and websites. I write persuasive copy to fit with your marketing campaign and drive sales.
If professional copy could help you to achieve your marketing goals, please get in touch.
